Today was a bit of a hectic day, it was my own doing ,but boy did I get stopped in my tracks. I was pulling into a parking lot getting ready to pick up the DD from gymnastics and whisk us both off the gym so I could work out. I had just turned off the ignition when I looked out my windshield and I saw...(note that I live in Chicago) TWO DEER. DD's gymnastics is located in a complex that includes a senior center, recycling center and Nature Center. They were just standing in an open field not 15 feet from my car. They were looking right at me. I froze. I was filled with wonder. I didn't want to leave and I didn't want to break the connection. The universe was telling me to stop and enjoy. and so I did just that. It was fabulous.
Ya ever had one of those days that seemed like entire week should have gone by already? I took the DD to school, did some independent contract work, had a check-up at the doctor, made three meals for the family, had three somewhat intense conversations with friends and family. So nothing all that exciting, but draining. This work from home mom stuff is hard. Very intellectually stimulating, but hard. I was told by a very wise person today to give myself more credit for what I do. So that is my mantra for the the coming days, I think that it should be a mantra in every woman's stash of tricks. Only you can be you and do it well. Came up with that one all by myself!
Okay, so after much kicking and screaming here I am entering the 21st century with this BLOG thing. I can't promise profound or deep thoughts everyday, but I will do my best to entertain myself if no one else. Here we go!
